Young smokers more prone to develop co-occurring mental disorders: Study
There is nothing healthy about smoking, yet millions of people across the world are addicted to nicotine found in cigarettes. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 480,000 Americans die each year due to cigarette smoking.
A study published online in the journal Molecular Psychiatry in January 2016 revealed that young smokers are at a higher risk of developing addiction to nicotine and getting afflicted with mental and substance use disorders when compared to their older counterparts. Read more
